Adulthood:
As Lincoln headed into his adult years he grew to a lanky height of six foot four inches. He lived on his family's farm from the age of 7-21. When Lincoln was around the age of 20, he had to give all his earnings to his father, because it was the law for a son to give his earnings away. After a while, he diecided he would move out, and gathered his belongings and moved to New Salem, Illinois. Lincoln became engaged to Mary Todd in 1840, and unfortunately they broke off their engagement. Mary Todd came from a wealthy family who owned slaves, in Lexington, Kentucky. However, they met at a party again, and got married on November 4, 1842.
The nickname, "Honest Abe":
When Abraham was selling tea, a woman wanted to buy tea, and approached him. She paid for her tea, and left, but soon after, Lincoln realized she had paid more for less tea. He walked 4 miles in search of the woman, in order to give her her tea.
